The VTP clinic was developed during 1990s by Specialist dentist Assar Bjorne and the therapist/dental nurse Anna-Lena Lindblad. The interest for vertigo, tinnitus and pain arouse during clinical treatment of patient who received local anesthesia and noted that tinnitus momentary disappeared. This experience was the beginning of further research and studies. Bjorne´s first study was published in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (1993). The publication of the study led to increased patient flow and thus in-depth knowledge and experience.
Later Anna-Lena Lindblad wrote an article about children´s experience of tinnitus. (See the research and publications-link in menu – paragraph 5, popular science articles).
